I think I tend to enjoy pulp horror the most, Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt and stuff like that all rank pretty high on my favorites and must watches. And lend to the anthology style that I love.
Extreme stuff and psychological/Thriller is also there but idk.

Thats actually a tough question. I grew up on slashers so that is up there. Im also one of the minority who likes found footage but its not my top subgenre. Monster has a lot of great stuff. Supernatural horror movies that make you think are great. Revenge is solid too. I guess i dont have one favorite. For me, i just have to be invested in the concept enough to watch and see how its executed.

I personally go for Horror Comedy more than any other but a good Thriller (before they became the most run down thing in the genre) never ceases to keep me entertained.
Movies I'd recommend: Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Shaun of the Dead, Both Zombieland movies
