What's the longest RP you've ever written? Why did it run so long?

12k or whatever the total was for the Princess Galaxy Cup.
I think.
And why? Because Anthony posted 10k and if he did 10, then I knew Zelda would do 100 (and she did), and I had to keep up in the dog fight for the belt. It instantly made the Interstellar Dream a legit top belt because I doubt THAT many combined words were ever written for a singular title match/tournament.

12.3k as Alex Shelley for SGW Forever. This was supposed to be the final show in the reboot and my last ever RP as Alex Shelley. It was for the SGW Intercontinental Championship. Figured why not just go big haha.
Biggest CAW rp was definitely the 10k I wrote for Princess Cup because of all the talented writers in that match.

Not my fault Zelda always has to copy what I do!
But seriously. That was a fun time, but I'll definitely not be looking to repeat that any time soon lol

Hey hey, it was only 17k. <.< >.> That said it was maddeningly both my longest and somehow beat RP that I've yet to be able to equal the quality of.

Worth it if you ask me.

I once wrote an RP as Hawaiian Hardhead that was like...26 pages in Word.
Pretty sure it breached 20k.
I straight-up wrote a film parody.
On the plus side: it won me the match.

I think it was 15-16k as Pirate Paul Burchill, 16-17 years ago.
Why? Pirate things.

I was challenged to a match with a 27k word limit in 2020. The number was chosen because it was the combined effort I had posted against an opponent in 2006. The challenger loved those RPs, thought they were my best ever, and wanted to honor them with that insane word limit.
I accepted, immediately regretted it, and proceeded to write 27k of what I consider my personal masterpiece.

I also worried about his sanity to ever agree to something like that

Ive been at this long enough that I couldn't tell you what mine was. In the old days a lot of us went by file size on our websites rather than word count. Long RPs were usually because your opponent went long to try to stomp you out before you started and you felt you had to match it. Not the best way to maintain quality or be kind to everyone's time.

31K. Was for a world title match that culminated a 9 month long blood feud between our characters.

Yikes. Maybe 10k many many years ago. The old school RPs where you'd try and fill the screen with a monologue from the character.
I think I'd die trying to write 10k or more now.

9k. 2 rps are actually tied for this. One was for a fatal 4 way championship defense where I wanted to focus on the 3 opponents individually, the other was for a world title match against one of the top writers in the fed.
Won the first one, "drew" the 2nd one.
