What vibe do you typically lean toward with your roleplays? Comedic, serious, dark, something else? Is it intentional?

My default is comedy, but I've handled a serious, no-nonsense character this year in Aria, which has strayed away from that comfort zone

As always, depends on the character and the efed. I equally enjoy both flavors, serious or comedic.
Even when I do serious stuff as with Caponata, there are inevitably comedic elements to certain bits or outright comedic sections, such as with Tora (usually).
I can't imagine writing a generally comedic character here though. Hats off to Diana Watts. It's tough in this brooding environment.
In a vacuum, I'd probably choose to just write dark comedy rps all the time if I had to pick a certain type.

I am kind of a humorist, so I always tend to write comedy characters. I think my writing is only "OK" and not great like many here (especially in the BDL. They're amazing. (no offence to others, sorry. it's just their the ones I actually READ the most of sadly). So ya, If I didn't have my comedy I doubt I would stand out hereor any where imo.
But though it may blow up in my face when I do return to MGP (hopefully this fall/winter) I can attempt to be more serious with Diana. But also don't want to lose that comedy touch. It will be a rough task to balance both drama and comedy. haha
Great question and good luck to everyone at the PPV this weekend! (DEADLINE DAY!!!)

I've always written serious stuff that always veers into the comedy. There are usually RPs that start serious or have a serious level of tone to them, but always contain some level of comedy, whether it be by the characters or by the narrator/description.

I've had comedy characters in the past, but the majority of what I've written has been serious. Usually there's something dark about it because I seem to hover around the theme of loss. That can be a loved one, identity, humanity, etc. Most of my characters are broken in some way and some are so broken they are more monster than human. For whatever reason that's my jam.

I cannot write true comedy for the life of me lol. Most of my stuff is serious and gritty, so to speak. Just how it turns out naturally and suits the sort of person I am.

Really depends on the character but I usually lean serious with some comedic elements, mostly in the form of funny lines or insults.
I once played Matt Riddle and I said something along the lines of "Lick my ass and suck my nuts" and it was the punchline for everything in the chat for like a month
