Sophomore year, chemistry class. Pretty sure every class that day just had the news on.

First period drama class. No class took place, went to second period, then got sent home about ten minutes later.

Sophmore year of college. Get to school, enter first class, professor talks about this horrible event in New York and a plane crash. Emphasizes what historic moment we are in (cultural anthropology class), and to go home immediately and watch news as classes have been canceled.
Go home still not getting the big deal why classes were canceled so turns on said news. "Oh... ohhh...."
Next few days were "OMG are people going to crash a plane into the Los Angeles area next?" and every time a plane flew low for the next week was "Oh fuck..."

Kindergarten. I remember my mom pulling me from school during Library and just chilling at home while my mom was freaking out. The towers would have fell about 8:30 but news didn't get to Small Town MT until 9:30 our time, at least that's when my mom pulled me.
Looking back on it, my mom was freaking out because she was worried my uncle who was in the Guard was about to be deployed.

At home with a twisted ankle. I was literally walking to my high school and hadn’t even left my complex when I twisted it, so I limped home and sat on the couch. Mom was watching Regis and Kelly so we saw it happen live and when we went to the hospital later that night all the TVs there were tuned to the news stations. Surprising since we’re in Canada, but it was a pretty significant world event.
