(The camera opens up to the inside of a karate dojo. Sitting in the middle of the dojo floor was Megumi herself, hair tied in a ponytail and wearing a t-shirt and shorts as she finished a bout of training. After drinking from her water bottle, she then sets it aside and decides to give the camera attention.)
What’s that saying about luck comin’ in threes? If two things happen, then a third is gonna come soon or whatever? Yeah, lemme take that saying and play around ‘ith it for a bit.
Historic Big Bang fucking sucked for us. Me and Satterfield didn’t win the Battle Royale, Kumo Tora got their shit wrecked, Wells lost her belt, and then to top it all off, Caponata got turned into a limp dishrag by her opponent who walked out with her belt.
...
...
...
(Megumi counts with her fingers. Then she counts again. Then she looked utterly flabbergasted as if math has failed her.)
...WHAT THE FUCK! THAT’S MORE THAN THREE!
(She blows out a sigh. Fuck math. Who needs math to survive anyway?)
Okay, screw using numbers for a moment! What matters is that Historic Big Bang didn’t go well for Black Dahlia Legacy. In gambler’s terms, it was a complete and utter wipeout. A bad beat. It fucking suuuuucked! Now we’re on the horizon of Hyper Visual Fighting and a title match lined up within our sights, the Celestial Trinity Championship—Lucky~! For a newbie, getting a title match for their second bout within a company is a test. This isn’t just the company acknowledging my talent, it's telling me to swim or sink. If I can’t handle a title match now, how can they trust me to handle it in the future? Especially when the top champion herself is leading the pack against us?
(She smirks at the camera. The arrogance isn’t hard to spot. Whether it's well deserved or not is up to debate.)
Heh.
Guess the company can expect me passin’ the test with flying colors.
When my dad started teaching me karate, he taught me how to never hold back and how to never stop wanting more. Those elements were the true characteristics of a real fighter. Once you’ve stopped giving it your all, once you’ve sunk into complacency, you’ve lost all credibility as a wrestler, as a fighter...because who doesn’t go into fights without wanting to test yourself? Who doesn’t go into fights with the simple desire to be given a thrill? TO WIN?! Pain is just a minor obstacle for the enjoyment of a good fight!
I wouldn’t put it past Gaijin Assault Army to treat our challenge as some desperate last gambit after the way they beat us at Historic Big Bang. I can only imagine the scowl on Knight’s face even as she gives it her all. Gaijin Assault Army cleaned Black Dahlia’s clocks in multiple bouts. Aria Knight stood tall over their best fighter Caponata with the Interstellar Dream Championship in her grasp. Why should they, at their strongest, even give a faction they’ve conquered time and time again?
(Her smirk grows into a cocky grin as she gets up. It’s almost like the spirit of her ancestors have taken over her.)
Because the bell hasn’t rang, ya bastards!
Call it newbie’s spark but...I ain’t letting shit slide without a good fight. It’s just like in fighting games: The turn only ends once you’ve blocked! And unfortunately for you, I’ve ripped out the button that tells me to block out of my game controller!
(No one escapes the Electric Wind God Fist.)
I’m not afraid of Gaijin Assault Army. I’m not going to give them the reaction that they want from us. They might have the top championship in their hands and they might be the strongest they’ve ever been but they are also at their most softest. It’s when all the cards lined up and you have a buncha wins underneath their belt that a fighter grows complacent and their soul begins to weaken.
To the outsiders, our challenge to them might be some desperate last gambit to make up for ground lost at Historic Big Bang but quite the opposite~! We are engaging in our turn because Black Dahlia Legacy hasn’t blocked! Our turn in this back and forth is far from over!
(WINK.)
Me, Satterfield, and Tora...we’re united by the single goal of putting Gaijin Assault Army in the dirt. While the Gaijin Assault Army has gotten their bellies stuffed fat with victories and the taste of being on top, we got nothing to lose. We either take your belts from you or continue to harass you to no return. Because there’s simply no getting rid of us. Not as long as you’ve positioned yourselves as the people to get over if someone wants to climb the throne. You've created the worst kind of enemy complacent people could have.
No one in Gaijin Assault Army understands combat like we do. No one in Gaijin Assault Army understands combat like I DO. Knight can lead her team like how the top champion is supposed to, Storm and Bonecrusher can do their parts as she strings them along, but they cannot fathom to manifest a fighting spirit that comes close to ours.
To put it in words that make sense...Me, Satterfield, and Tora are the sword that will slice open the belly of the Gaijin Snake God and we’ll pull the Trinity Championship right out of its fat three-headed belly.
I might be new and I might not have talked with Tora or Satterfield much but you don’t need that to form unity in combat. All you need is for your rhythms to be in sync and we can easily do that because we’re united in a single goal. Beating you. That unity in a single goal, in establishing our faction as the best, is the greatest form of unity to exist.
And if you don’t plan on making this match thrilling, then I’ll do what a combat junkie does and I’ll leave you FUCKED UP!
(She points to the camera. She’s definitely fired up now.)
In the words of Sun Tzu,
Let us flatten you and show you why Black Dahlia Legacy is unmatched when it comes to unity and combat. Gaijin Assault Army might have given BDL multiple cases of bad luck but in this match, you’ll receive the worst kind of bad luck.
In threes.
