Hey, everyone.
I just wanted to touch base with everyone on the topic of segments. For those of you who have joined so far, I'd like to know where you stand on submitting your own segments versus management writing all the segments. In my experience running e-feds, I've always handled writing the matches and segments. I understand that created character e-feds are different in the sense that there's more of an expectation for handlers to submit their own or that some handlers may just prefer to submit their own.
Full transparency, I prefer to handle everything just so there's a singular vision for each show leading into another. I definitely want to keep my hands on the steering wheel early on just to give everyone a foundation to build on, a launching pad, and to set the general vibe of the experience going forward.
Obviously, I'm willing to work with and accommodate anyone to the best of my ability. I just wanted to get a feel for where everyone is on the subject.

I don't see an issue, especially early on with a vision being formed, of you handling things (within reason of not burning yourself out being a one-man show). Or, if you did want things submitted, at least give an idea of what you'd like to see get sent in so 7 of us don't have the same interviewer do backstage interviews back-to-back-to-back.

I'd prefer your singular writing (but that's also because I know how awesome your writing is... okay and some laziness), but if we need to do segments I totally can. But a prompt or idea would be great since yes, 7 continuous backstage interviews is no bueno.

if you toss a prompt or what is suggested that might be enough to guide if you have in storylines. But at the same time leaving enough freedom for what the creators have in mind for the character.

I can go both ways on this. Ensuring the vision is met, especially early in is important. I also do like to write segments myself at times to make sure that my character feels 'right' if that makes sense (along the lines of what wasabi said). Of course I also know that we're in good hands with Josh too, which is awesome.

I've never been very good at writing segments, so I'm pretty content to let you take the wheel. LBT gets fired up when she's cutting a promo, but backstage she's just a laid-back cross between RVD/Orange Cassidy who believes in doing the right thing.

I’ve never really had to write segments before aside from interviews, so I’m open to having them be produced especially as things begin. Perhaps over time there can be a blend of that and shared stories on the boards to help further the community here?

I started and spent most of my years efedding in places where the staff wrote the segments. Lately I have been in feds where we write our own segments, it been a cool fresh experience. I'm good with either style.
