Plain, white, birthday cake.

Plain vanilla cake is great. I'd go with chocolate though if I had to pick. Chocolate on chocolate. That kind of thing.
I do like a good carrot cake as well, though.

I forgot to mention that I'm not a big fan of frosting. I actually just like gorging down the plain parts of the cake, regardless of the cake type. Chocolate frosting or a simple vanilla cream frosting (without much added sugar) is really the only one I care for at all.
