General Listening:

Top of the list is Electronic. Usually Melodic Techno/Melodic House, Progressive House, and Synthwave/Retrowave, but also other subgenres like Dark Cyberpunk, Latin, Japanese Trance, Japanese Trap/Bass, Japanese Lofi (sheesh I sound like princessz, I'm such a weeb).

After that?

Well I grew up on 80s to 90s R&B so those usually show up a lot.

Then Rock (NIN, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Metallica, and on and on).

Writing Music Wise:

Electronic again with a dash of stuff like video game/anime soundtracks (Persona 3-5 soundtracks are great for writing), 40s jazz noir, it really depends on what I'm writing and the mood.
